Thank you all for the tremendous support!
What a week! Two spectacular shows in two days, Believe on vinyl released and yesterday, it hit #1 on UK Official Classical Charts! Thank you to all that support Jonathan, attend the concerts and those that purchase his albums.
Jonathan Antoine's concert in Blackpool
This was a very special concert that many traveled far and wide to attend. From the initial roaring applause before a single note was sung as Jonathan walked on stage to the finale, nobody wanted it to end. Each concert is unique with its own fingerprint and always thrilling! Accompanied by brilliant pianist/composer Pavel Timofeyevsky and saxophonist Sarah Louise Ings, favourites were performed with a few surprises mixed in. For those unable to have been there, we hope you enjoy some of the photos and clips from both events. There
was also a very touching moment at the end, when Jonathan was completely surprised and deeply moved by an award presentation from Paula Slater, of Katy Holmes Trust. It is a charity named for Paula's late daughter, Katy, dedicated to raising awareness and funding for research of paediatric brain tumours. Jonathan has been a patron of the very important charity for a few years now.
Below is a backstage interview with Jonathan immediately after the concert. It's a treat to see/feel the energy he gets from performing!
The second is a gentleman that traveled from Colorado with his wife, after he surprised her with tickets to see Jonathan to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.
The Rochester Castle Proms
The Proms are a British tradition dating back to the late 1800's.The main BBC Prom season is from July to September. They were originally created to educate people about classical music and make concerts accessible in an informal environment.
Today, Proms concerts are held at many castles, abbeys and are part of multi-day festivals."Prommers" attending the concerts take their picnics and some may dress in festive costumes, holding their flags ready to wave and cheer during the patriotic finale. The finales are spirited, exciting and usually include fireworks and singing along to- The Land of Hope and Glory, Jerusalem, Rule,Britannia (included in the Fantasia of British Sea Songs) and more. Jonathan has performed in quite a few Proms thus far and even has his fantastic Union Jack cape to wear for the finales.
The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra conducted by Michael Reed were spectacular and Jonathan sang Volare, Bring Him Home, Che Gelida Manina and in the patriotic finales. It was a memorable night with such an enthusiastic crowd that even joined in singing Volare, much to Jonathan's delight.
People have started to receive their vinyl Believe LP's and it's very exciting! Whether you plan on playing it to experience the nostalgic and some argue superior sound difference, or want to keep it as a memento, thank you for your support and enjoy! There may be some unsigned left and if so, here is the link.
Vinyl Believe.
Once again, we would like to thank everyone for being patient as we work on getting Jonathan to the USA and other countries to perform. We know so many of you have waited for years and it doesn't ever go unnoticed!
